Our Approach to Travel

We will:

Visit places of great cultural meaning and natural beauty where you get to know extraordinary people. Travel with curiosity, humility, and humor.

Seek to experience and interpret what we are seeing on four levels: the physical/sensory, psychological/historical, mythic/symbolic, and spiritual/integrative.

Reflect on how what we see can sustain the world and deepen our appreciation of others and ourselves.

Give back as well as receive by seeking genuine connection with others. Also, $50 of your fee is donated locally.

The above are achieved through:

Small groups of twelve or fewer and myself. You can observe and participate in local life-- and enjoy discussion, reflection, and exercise. My wife, Nancy, joins some Adventures.

Meeting others. You meet students, teachers, monks, healers, farmers, artists, officials, social activists, elders and others. To learn how others see their world--and ours—we visit homes for conversation and planned meals; go to places of work, worship and community life; plan activities with our local hosts (and invite some to dinner) and, we watch for spontaneous opportunities!

For photographers. Roger’s passion for photography and SE Asians’ love of being photographed provide wonderful opportunities for photography. I use Thai and Lao languages to help create opportunities.

Attention to Safety, Security & Health. Roger’s personal connections provide the latest on health and travel conditions.
